Introduction

The Dashboard provides a place to quickly view statistics about your instance of the platform. The Default Dashboard is preconfigured with the counts for Users, Active Systems, and Deficiencies but can be customized to include additional information to suit your organization’s needs.



Customizing the Dashboard

The Default Dashboard can be customized by adding new widgets, renaming it, or creating a completely new one. Click on the ACTION button to reveal the Dashboard options.



Add Widget

Widgets can be added to the Default or to a newly created custom Dashboard. From the ACTION menu, click the “Add Widget” option to access the predefined widget categories, then select one of the Categories:

  • System Widgets focuses on the Compliance Module and provides a variety of pie, bar, text-based, and matrix chart visuals around framework controls
  • Other Widgets contains the basic widgets used on the Default Dashboard
  • Generic Widgets includes visuals for security regulation and system completion stats
  • Policy Widgets provides visuals related to Documentation in a donut chart or bar chart
  • Asset Widgets shows stats by Impact, Department, Location, and CI Type
  • SOR Widgets breaks down the various Systems of Record (SOR) as a pie chart with the ability to drill-down into each SORs underlying data 
  • Vendor Widgets includes visuals for Upcoming Assessments (calender view), Assessment Status (bar chart), Vendor Issues (bar chart), Vendor Analytics (pie chart)

Once the Widget Category is selected, find the best fit for the visual to be displayed and click the appropriate icon. The next screen will provide the opportunity to select the width and height of the widget, and depending on the widget, additional criteria may display with drop-down selections. One of the criteria options is System List, use the drop-down to select one of the Systems to define which dataset should be used in the visual. 


Complete the configuration and click SAVE to add the widget to the Dashboard. Options to CANCEL or CHANGE WIDGET are also available.


Once the widget is part of the Dashboard, there are options to Configure or Remove by clicking on the stacked dots in the right corner of the individual widgets.


The Configure option allows the opportunity to make changes to the width, height, and additional criteria (depending on widget).


If the Remove option is selected, a confirmation pop-up will display with YES or CANCEL buttons.


Rename Dashboard

To change the name of the Dashboard, even the Default, by clicking on the “Rename Widget” option on the ACTION menu. A text box will appear below the “Dashboard Name” – key in the new name, then click SAVE. Option to CANCEL is also available.



Create New Dashboard

Creating a completely custom Dashboard starts by clicking the “Create New Dashboard” option on the ACTION menu to access the predefined Dashboard Templates. Select either Default Dashboard or Blank Dashboard, fill in the Dashboard Name field, then click SAVE. Options to CANCEL or CHANGE TEMPLATE are also available.



Remove Dashboard (from the Dashboard Drop-down)

The option to remove a Dashboard is only available when one of the other Dashboards is selected – only then the Trash icon display in the drop-down menu. 

Example: if you want to deleted the "FRAMEWORKS" dashboard (shown in example screenshot below), you must first select the DEFAULT DASHBOARD for the trashcan to show next to the FRAMEWORKS.


Clicking the Trashcan icon will pop-up a confirmation with YES or CANCEL buttons.
